Spireward is a tower-defense game made by EratechIT (“we”, “us”). This policy explains:
- what information is collected when you play;
- who collects it, and why;
- the choices you have.
It applies to Spireward on Android, and on iPhone and iPad when that version is released.
The Short Version
- No account. You don’t need an account. We never ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- Your progress stays on your device. EratechIT doesn’t run game servers. We don’t receive your save file or your play history.
- Ads come from Google AdMob. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google collects some information from your device, such as your advertising ID, your IP address and how you interact with ads.
- Where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent before it requests any ad.
- You can change your choice later.
- Purchases go through the store. If you buy Remove Ads, Google Play (or Apple’s App Store) handles the payment. The game uses Unity’s purchasing software to talk to the store, and that software sends Unity information about the purchase and your device.
- Crash reports go to Unity. Unity, the engine the game is built with, sends crash and performance reports to Unity so we can find and fix problems.
- You can play offline. While your device has no internet connection, none of these services can send anything.
Who We Are
Spireward is published by EratechIT.
- Email: [email protected]
- Website: https://spireward.eratechit.com
- Postal address: available on request by email
Under data protection laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, EratechIT is responsible for the information collected through Spireward. The exception is where a partner described below uses information for its own purposes under its own privacy policy, as Google does for advertising.
Information Saved on Your Device
The game keeps one save file in its private storage on your device. It contains:
- your level progress, stars and attempts;
- Coins, upgrades, unlocked towers and achievements;
- daily rewards and tutorial progress;
- your settings (sound, haptics, battery saver);
- whether you own Remove Ads;
- the timing records that pace ads and rewards (for example, when the last full-screen ad played).
This file stays on your device. The game doesn’t upload it to us or to anyone else.
Device backups. If backup is turned on, your device may include the save file in its backup:
- Android backs up to your Google account;
- iPhone and iPad back up to iCloud or to your computer.
That way, your progress can come back when you reinstall the game or move to a new device. These backups are kept by Google or Apple under their own terms. We can’t see or access them.
Information Collected by Services in the Game
The game includes software from Google and Unity. That software collects some information automatically, as described below. EratechIT doesn’t receive a copy of it, except in summary reports from those services (for example, ad earnings, or crash counts with technical details).
Ads (Google AdMob)
Spireward is free and is paid for by ads:
- Reward ads play only when you tap Watch Ad, and the reward is shown first.
- Between-level ads may appear when you leave a Victory or Defeat screen, never during a level.
- A banner appears on the Main Menu and Level Select only.
Google describes the information its ads software may collect as follows:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate the general location of your device.
- Device and account identifiers.
- On Android: the advertising ID and the app set ID, and, if applicable, other identifiers related to signed-in accounts on the device.
- On iPhone and iPad: the advertising identifier (IDFA), but only if you allow tracking, plus other app- or developer-level identifiers.
- How you interact with the app and ads, such as app launches, taps, video views and the ads you’ve seen.
- Diagnostic and performance information, such as app launch time, hang rate, energy use and crash logs.
Google uses this information to:
- show ads;
- measure them;
- produce analytics;
- prevent fraud.
Personalized ads.
- With your consent where required (and, on iPhone and iPad, your permission to track), Google may use this information to show ads based on your interests.
- Without it, Google may still show ads that use less information (“non-personalized” or “limited” ads).
Consent.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the game shows Google’s consent message before it requests any ad.
- Google’s consent software saves your choice on your device. It also uses your IP address to work out which rules apply where you are.
- To change your choice later, open Settings → Privacy Options. That option appears in the game whenever Google says you must be able to change your choice.
Remove Ads turns off banners and between-level ads. Reward ads stay available, but they only ever play when you choose to watch one, so the ads software remains in the game.
Learn more about how Google uses information from apps that show its ads: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, and the Google Privacy Policy.
Purchases (Google Play and Apple)
Remove Ads is an optional one-time purchase.
- The payment. Google Play (or Apple’s App Store) handles the payment. We never see your card or bank details.
- Ownership. The store tells the game whether you own Remove Ads, and the game checks the store’s receipt on your device.
- Your purchase history is kept in your Google or Apple account under their terms.
See the Google Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Unity In-App Purchasing
The game uses Unity’s In-App Purchasing software to talk to the store.
When it sends anything. When you tap Buy, and as the purchase goes through, completes or fails.
What it sends Unity:
- the product, its price and currency;
- the store’s order or transaction ID and receipt;
- whether the purchase succeeded or failed;
- information about your device: model, operating system version, language and region settings, storage size, and when the device last started up;
- a random installation ID that Unity creates for the app, plus a session ID;
- the app version and your approximate country;
- on iPhone and iPad, also the identifier for vendor (IDFV), an ID shared only by apps from the same developer.
Why. Unity uses this to run its purchasing service, provide purchase analytics and help prevent fraud.
Unity’s role.
- Mostly, Unity processes this information on our behalf.
- For some purposes, such as financial reporting, legal compliance, security and fraud prevention, Unity says it acts as an independent controller.
See the Unity Privacy Policy.
Crash and Performance Reports (Unity)
The game is built with the Unity engine, which sends crash and error reports to Unity’s Diagnostics service. A report contains:
- crash and error logs;
- performance and technical information about the app and device;
- the random installation ID mentioned above.
We use these reports only to find and fix crashes and performance problems. Unity processes this information on our behalf, and by default keeps it for 90 days.
What We Don’t Do
- No accounts, sign-in, chat or social features.
- No analytics of our own. The game’s code doesn’t send your gameplay to us or anyone else.
- No precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.
- We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some US state laws, however, count letting ad partners use device identifiers to personalize ads as “selling” or “sharing”. See “If you’re in the United States” under Your Choices.
Partners and How They Protect Your Information
We use the partners named above only:
- Google for ads, consent and Google Play purchases;
- Apple for App Store purchases;
- Unity for the game engine, purchases and crash reports.
Each has agreed terms with us that cover how it protects personal data (for example, Google’s ads data protection terms and Unity’s Data Processing Addendum), and each publishes its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your Choices
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland). You’re asked on first launch. Change your choice any time in Settings → Privacy Options.
- If you’re in the United States:
- In US states with privacy laws, Settings → Privacy Options lets you opt out of the use of your information for personalized ads.
- On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID (see below).
- On iPhone and iPad you can deny tracking.
- Advertising ID (Android). You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings. On many phones it’s under Settings → Privacy → Ads; the exact place varies by device.
- Tracking (iPhone and iPad). The game asks for permission before any app-tracking identifier is used. Your answer doesn’t change anything in the game. You can change it any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Play offline. With no internet connection, nothing is sent. Ads and purchases are unavailable, and everything else works.
- Uninstall. Uninstalling the game deletes the save file from your device and stops all collection. Device backups (see above) follow your backup settings.
Children
Spireward is made for players aged 13 and over. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. The ads aren’t set up for a child audience.
If you believe a child under 13 is playing, please contact us at [email protected]. We hold no information about players ourselves, but we’ll help with any request to our partners.
How Long Information Is Kept, and Deleting It
- The save file stays on your device until you uninstall the game or clear its data.
- Google keeps advertising information according to its own privacy policy. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time.
- Unity Diagnostics keeps the personal data in crash reports for 90 days by default.
- Unity In-App Purchasing keeps service logs for 90 days. Unity may keep transaction records longer, for example for financial reporting and legal compliance.
- Store purchase records are kept by Google or Apple in your account.
Deletion requests. We don’t run accounts or servers, so we can’t look up your information by name or email.
- To ask about deletion, write to [email protected]. We’ll explain what can be done, and pass your request to Unity where Unity can identify the information.
- For Google’s advertising data, use Google’s own tools (for example, your Google account or your device’s ad settings).
Security
- Information in transit. The services above encrypt the information they send (TLS).
- Your save file lives in the app’s private storage, which other apps can’t read.
No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, but we choose established services and keep what’s collected to a minimum.
Legal Bases (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are:
- Your consent: personalized ads and, on iPhone and iPad, tracking. You can withdraw it at any time in Privacy Options or your device settings.
- Our legitimate interests:
- in offering a free game: limited or non-personalized ads;
- in keeping the game secure and working: fraud prevention, and crash and performance reports.
- Performing our contract with you: delivering and restoring Remove Ads.
Where Information Is Processed
Google and Unity process information in the United States and other countries. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards they use when information is transferred out of your country.
Your Rights
Where you live may give you rights to:
- access, correct or delete your personal information;
- object to or restrict its use;
- take it with you;
- withdraw consent;
- opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or of targeted advertising.
We won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
Making a request. Because we don’t hold information linked to you, many requests are handled fastest through Privacy Options, your device settings, or Google’s and Unity’s own tools. You can always contact us at [email protected].
Complaints. If you’re in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date above. If the changes are significant (for example, a new kind of data or a new partner), we’ll also say so in the game or on its store page.
